Artist Bio:

Ashley Lynn was raised in Amish country. In the rolling hills of rural Southwestern Iowa. The oldest of six Matney children. She grew up raising farm animals, rodeoing, and showing cattle. All the women on her Mother’s side of the family are artists. Ashley taught herself to paint at twelve years old with some hand-me-down brushes and old paint she found in her Grandma’s closet. The hobby became an obsession as the years went on. After graduating from homeschool at the age of seventeen, she went to live with her mother’s family in Spain for 3 years. Coming back to America at the age of 20 she enrolled in school and is currently studying to become a Geologist.
STATEMENT: I love to do all kinds of art. But my preference at the moment would have to be acrylics, and watercolor. I also enjoy making rosaries out of semi-precious stones. I don’t really have a preferred style and like to dabble in everything from realism to abstract. The one thing that stays consistent about my artwork is colors. Very rarely will you catch me doing a black and white sketch. I have to put some pop of color in it. I love to paint things that had some sort of impact on my life. Every painting has a deep meaning to me. A lot of my inspiration comes from Spain. As well as the beautiful Amish country I grew up in.

Artist Statement

Now that I have reached the age where I can be called a pensioner it’s time to spread my unencumbered wings and fly. A time to play my role in this illusion we call life and due my part in salvation. My chosen role is to bring spiritual communications into the world of time through abstract paintings .And what a wonderous role it is to merely listen and with great joy slap paint on what ever gets in the way. To enable miracles to unfold What more could one ask for? No more to agonize over highlights ,shadows and contrast But rather to say “Thy will be done Let’s paint” So when you look at one of my images quiet your mind and receive the message that’s in it for you at that moment Let them open your mind to receive from above I wish you peace. Jeff

Artist Bio:  I let the materials and tools guide me in the creation of my art. The copper plates, the inks, the brayers, presses and papers, the camera lenses and the light of an afternoon sky: all have lessons to teach about how to capture the images I perceive. I have been fortunate to travel around the world and experience its grandeur, from the Great Wall of China to the Duomo in Florence, from the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower in Paris to the Old City in Jerusalem. Photography taught me how to frame what I have seen. Printmaking lets me bring impressions to life in ways that convey their essence. Art is my way of expressing my passion for the adventure.
